Beginning Composition, as the title suggests, is a beginner's guide to composition.

The book covers the basic composition techniques you can apply to your art. It teaches the topic by showing you examples and explaining how composition works. Composition is more an art than science. There are still times where I don't really understand the rational even when there are explanations provided. When it comes to composition, you really have to study a lot of paintings in order to get a sense of what works.

This book serves as a good introduction to composition. For those who want more details and analysis, check out these composition books.
