Drawing the Female Figure is a book for manga, hentai and comic book artists. The book's published by Korero Press. There is the mention of hentai so there is a lot of nudity and boobs in this book that I cannot show in the pictures below due to Google Adsense terms.
This is a figure drawing book for those who want to draw Japanese manga style female figures or characters with sex appeal. There are fundamentals such as anatomy, proportion, skeletons and muscles. And there are many tips on drawing faces, gestures and postures, hairstyle, underwear, cleavage, boobs and how to add personality.
This book is for beginners so you may not need to have any anatomy knowledge or even drawing experience to get started. Having said that, there are some limitations to the book. Since the style is manga style, the human figures may have some exaggerations. For examples, manga eyes are always bigger than normal eyes, and the shape of the faces are very typical manga style. And there's a lack of variety of female figures in different form as only young shapely female figures are used as examples, but that's alright as the target market for this book is probably very niche. And there's little information on drawing clothes, bras and underwear yes, but not normal clothes.
This 178-page paperback is surprisingly comprehensive except for the limitations mentioned above. Overall, it's a good book for artists looking to draw sensual, risque or provocative female characters with sex appeal.
By the way, the instructor Hikaru Hayashi has published many manga drawing books. If you want to learn more about drawing manga, you can check out the expansive How to Draw Manga series.
