I've just started painting, but found that most of the sets have a color or two that isn't quite needed. (The Daniel Smith Primary tube sets are probably an exception to that rule, maybe some others from other brands too). The sets don't really save much if anything, generally speaking. So I look at sets, pick and choose the colors I want/need from them and find other choices that I like better, or where people like Teoh convince me that I "need" them. When I use my favorite small internet suppliers I get a great price too.
