After the exuberance of colours displayed in The Art of Cars 2, Pixar has gone back to the mood and feel of the first film. The locations definitely do not feel as exotic as those from the second film.

The Art of Cars 3 continues to feature lots of car designs. You only get to see the new cars as the characters from previous films have already been featured. There are also some storyboards, coloured scenes, sketches, those billboard designs and car deco. The text talks about story development and how the story has evolved since the first film.

As usual, my favourites are the panorama landscape scenes. The subject matter maybe nothing special but the artworks are very beautifully created, e.g. country side with dirt road, highways with mountainous backgrounds, and of course the beautiful skies. However, there are too few of those environment art.

Overall, the art is good, but after I've gone through the book, I can't help but have that sense of deja vu because it doesn't feel too different from the first film's artbook. It has some new locations and racing spots but I don't think it has done enough to make the whole world feel new. That's my only quibble.
