In 2011, mecha artist, designer and sculptor Luca Zampriolo, aka Kallamity, released the ABAKAN 2288 which is a really amazing book featuring the mecha art and sculpted models.
Kallamity Sketchbook features only sketches. It's a square format hardcover with only 72 pages. That's quite thin.
Most of the sketches were drawn from 2011 onwards and there are only a handful of much older sketches. The wonderful designs are filled with lots of designs and mechanical to check out, many I think are drawn in ink. There are a few non-mecha sketches included also which feels a bit weird because everything else are like robots and metal parts.
All the sketches are labeled with the type of pen used. And at the back of the book are a few pages talking about fountain pens, filler systems, care tips, pen restoration and the other drawing tools that he uses. 21 fountain pens are shown in the book and some are those vintage ones. This guy looks like a fountain pen collector.
It's a nice sketchbook for mecha lovers. And if you like mecha art, check out all the related books at https://www.parkablogs.com/category/tags/mecha-robots
