So the Urban Sketchers Singapore had another talk and sketchwalk at the National Museum of Singapore again. Today's talk was about travel sketching.

By the way, there's another art event coming up in March and it's organised by the Jurong Regional Library. It's called Journey to the West so check it out.

The 45 degree shadow caught my attention. Today I used pencil instead of ink. I'm glad the 4B lines are dark enough.

After the sketchwalk, Paul, Eve, William Sim and I continued sketching at Mr Bean's Cafe along Selegie Road. I forgot to draw the waiters.

Capturing the right lighting in cafes is always challenging for me. Most cafes in Singapore are quite dim. Bright cheery ones are a rarity. Actually, I think the only bright cheery ones are all the neighbourhood coffee shops.

Looking back, I should have made the interior of the kitchen much darker to give the sketch more depth of field.
