Book Review: London Sketchbook: A Pictorial Celebration

London Sketchbook: A Pictorial Celebration

I like that this book is a combination of art, architecture and also a bit of tour guidebook.

Jim Watson's watercolour drawings of London are very beautiful. The architecture there must be very detailed but they are in simplified form here. Effective and charming. The tourist attractions he covered are all accompanied by descriptions, many times historical footnotes because the of rich history.

The tour guide part comes in the form of a small drawn map that's essentially a walking map. Many of the places are accessible from the public train stations.

The book has 96 pages, and is rather small though, designed like a size of a travel guidebook.

It's a good souvenir and for those who like sketchbooks, traveling and architecture.
