Character Design Collection: Heroines is a 216-page paperback artbook with designs for heroines and lead female characters.
Over 50 artists are featured from fields of animation, illustration, comics and games. It's great that publisher 3DTotal is always featuring new and upcoming artists.
A huge variety of characters are showcased and I'm glad it's not mostly superheroes, or in this case superheroines. You can get lots of ideas and inspiration just by looking at all the designs.
Each character design has a short profile included together with a few pages of sketches and accompanying design notes. The sketches are lovely, charming. The diversity of the characters is excellent. Also the characters look very dynamic and lively.
This book is a wonderful source of inspiration. It's a great book for character designers.
