Refillable Brush Pen from Straits Art (review)

These are the new refillable brush pens brought in by Straits Art. There's no brand on this brush pen from what I can see.

Main selling point is this is refillable and it's cheap although I can't remember exactly how much it cost.

The bristles are synthetic and available in two sizes, small and big. The small bristle is almost the same size as the one from the Pentel Pocket Brush Pen. The Pentel brush ben is not refillable unless you want to use a syringe to refill the ink cartridge.

These are the different parts. Ink convertor included uses a twist-type piston.

The brush pen is made of plastic but build quality seems solid. It's a lightweight brush pen that's quite comfortable to hold.

This beautiful clear pen cap will be dirty in no time.

Ink flow is good but that will also depend on the ink you use.

I can't remember what ink I used here. Probably Noodler's Bulletproof Black because it doesn't seem that black. Rotring ink is much darker.

The brush pen is flexible. You can produce thin and thick lines easily depending on pressure applied and also how you hold the brush pen.

The brush pen is able to produce textured strokes easily.

This brush pen is certainly worth the money. Performance is quite good. Ink flows well enough. This brush pen is for people who enjoy drawing with the brush style. I can definitely recommend this over the Pentel Pocket Brush Pen simply because this is refillable.
