Here are the artbooks coming up for the last month of 2014. Not a lot so it looks like I can get a good rest this month and feature more art product reviews that I've planned but never had the time to write.
The Art of Destiny - 4 Dec 2014
Destiny was released in 9 September so this game art companion is already late. I hope it's good. The book's a 216-page hardcover.
Inkworks: Darren Quach Sketchbook Vol. 01 - 15 Dec 2014
The impressive concept artist Darren Quach is coming up with his artbook this month too. The publisher's Design Studio Press. The artworks on his website and blog are fantastic. Looking at the preview pages on Design Studio Press, it looks like the book's going to feature mainly sketches and not his full coloured works.
The Urban Sketching Handbook: People and Motion: Tips and Techniques for Drawing on Location - 15 Dec 2014
Gabriel Campanario's second handbook on urban sketching will focus on people. The first book was on architecture and cityscapes which I reviewed in September.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Chronicles: Art & Design - 17 Dec 2014
This would be the fifth book in The Hobbit movie series. It's going to be a 240-page hardcover. Check out the earlier film companions to get an idea of what to expect.
ZBrush Characters and Creatures - 30 Dec 2014
Publisher 3DTotal will be releasing another Zbrush book with their usual detailed treatment. It will be an intensive tutorial-based book featuring a variety of character and creature sculpts from artists such as Mariano Steiner, Maarten Verhoeven, Caio César and Kurt Papstein.
