Framed Ink 2 is an excellent follow up the first volume which was published in 2010 by Design Studio Press.

This book includes even more examples, insight and inspiration on visual composition and storytelling techniques.

The artist and author is Marcos Mateu-Mestre, an animation designer and graphic novel artist with three decades of experience in feature animation. This guy is an absolute profession. Framed Ink 2 is his fifth instructional book. The earlier four are

• Framed Perspective Vol. 1: Technical Perspective and Visual Storytelling
• Framed Perspective Vol. 2: Technical Drawing for Shadows, Volume, and Characters
• Framed Drawing Techniques: Mastering Ballpoint Pen, Graphite Pencil, and Digital Tools for Visual Storytelling

All his books are must-buys. No kidding. Every page in every book is packed with so much useful and practical tips.

Over the years, I've bought the first Framed Ink several times to give away to my friends. Four times at least because the book came out in 2010.

The examples in this book, again, are absolutely gorgeous. The black and white drawings, no matter how simple they are, just look terrific and a lot has got to do with the composition techniques discussed in this book. There's a lot of text and a lot to learn. This book is really worth the money. Follow the tips, practice, and expect to improve.

This book is for comic artists, storyboard artists, or anyone who wants to tell stories with drawings.

Highly recommended. And be sure to get the earlier four books too.
