It really depends on what type of work you're going to do. If you're just going to be drawing, reading, writing, then the iPad Pro should do the job. File management on iOS is a mess though.
Personally I think typing on the iPad Pro is quite easy. If you are typing occasionally, then you may not need to get the smart keyboard. If you type a lot, the getting the keyboard makes sense. Anyway, you can study your own workflow first and decide on a later date to get a keyboard if you need one.
I would personally get a Logitech keyboard that I can use with other devices. The Apple smart keyboard is expensive. And on some days, I may want to bring the keyboard out, on others, I may not want the keyboard.
