Rinzler, the collection maps in precise, vivid, and intricate detail the very genesis of the most enduring and beloved story ever to appear onscreen.

Star Wars: The Blueprints gives voice to the groundbreaking and brilliant engineers, designers, and artists that have, in film after film, created the most imaginative and iconic locales in the history of cinema. Agreed. 500 bucks for a book? Antiquarians and art auctioneers maybe, but how about regular folks who have been Star Wars fans for decades? How about printing a less expensive editiion for us mere mortals? How about a digital version so that we can browse the pics in our PCs, iPads or whatever?
I'd love to have this, but not at this ridiculous price. I wonder how many people are going to buy it and never unpack it and then auction it on eBay for ten times the price in future?

i got it on a pricing error

i got it on a pricing error from amazon for $310 tax included so im not gonna complain.

The problem with cost of the book is its size (which for proper blueprints its still on the small side), and the quality of the make. If you take away the presentation aspect of it, it can easily be another 50 to $100 cheaper.

There are things for collectors and things for fans. You should go complain to Sideshow Toys because their premium format figures cost 300-500 dollars instead of the $10 walmart action toys.

Apples and oranges.
