Since it's Mid Autumn Festival at the end of the month, we've decided to have the sketchwalk at Chinatown.
Chinatown Business Association (facebook) has packed activities for 4 weeks. There were lanterns were put up onto the streets, road closure for a mass lantern walk, live performances, and additional stores were set up to sell lanterns.

I was there early to cover a wine and mooncake pairing session but almost got drunk after drinking one glass of wine. I'm not much of a wine drinker and can't tell what's good or bad. There were mixed nuts and white lotus mooncake. The traditional white lotus mooncake is better tasting, regardless of what wine that goes with it. The wine were sponsored by The Cellar Door.

This is the typical Chinatown. The red lanterns have been there for a long time, and are not specific for the Mid Autumn Festival.

The theme is fruits, at least for this section of the lantern displays.

These are all plastic battery powered lanterns.

These are the old classic paper lanterns that have been around for a long time.

Harder lanterns. Some even have songs coming out of them.

Haven't seen these for a while. There's some sort of confectionery, bun or pastry inside.

Smith Street, aka Food Street, is where people can eat under the sky. The road is closed during the weekends and tables are then put on the roads. Prices are not too expensive.
