This is a very well designed book, newly released for the 2010 film 'Legend of the Guradians'. Animal Logic, the Sydney animation company behind the film, has taken the unusual, but appreciated step of self-publishing their own art book.

The book itself is packed with illustrations and artwork, with very little blank space remaining. The art varies from pencil illustration, to high quality matte-paintings, often on the same page. There is a high abundance of detailed key art, which is complimented by plenty of text from the artists.

In addition to the character designs, location designs, weapon and costume design (yes, the owls have costumes), the complete colour script of the film is included. Overall, the book has an incredible amount of variety and detail in the artworks, leading to a fantastic artbook.

One final note; even though it is self-published, the quality in both book design and production is top-notch. It is the same size as the Pixar artbooks, and is like a Pixar/Dreamworks artbook, rolled into one glorious combo.

Get it if you can. As far as I'm aware, it can only be purchased from http://www.animallogic.com/, but hopefully it will be available on Amazon one day.
