Book Review: Confetti, The Art of Brittney Lee
Brittney Lee is one of my favourite artists of all time. She works as a visual development artist and animator in california. If there is one thing that defines Brittney Lee's passion and artistry it is through her paper sculpts. She's contributed paper sculpts to Gallery Nucleus' tribute shows for Harry Potter, "Baker's Dozen," "It's a Small World" and several others which can be viewed on her blog below.
Confetti, her very first book (and I hope it's the first of many), debuted at comic con and is now available on her Etsy store that I've linked below. It features personal sketches, paintings, and paper sculpts from 2007-2011. It is a soft cover book that measures 6.25" x 7.75" and features 68 full color pages. And as a nice treat, each copy is signed and has a sketch by Brittney Lee herself as well. I love her brilliancy of colour and her art is nothing short of elegant. There's a fairly good variety of mediums presented in the book and the picture quality is perfect. The details on her paper sculpts are presented very clearly so you can see and appreciate the detail and precision she puts into them. I highly recommend this book. Please check out her blog and shop. Her art speaks for itself. Blog: http://britsketch.blogspot.ca/ Shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/britsketch?page=1 |
