The Art of Blood the Last Vampire is a book that mainly focuses on the artworks of the hit anime movie from the year 2000.
I was very happy to find this hard to come by book because this book was:
1. still new in shrink wrap
2. was sold to me for a very chip price(the seller just didn't want his collection any more and I was more then happy to buy some of it from him).
3. I love Bloods anime movie and series adaptations.
But the reason I was happy the most was because it collects Bloods artwork and character design by the great Japanese artist Katsuya Terada. Terada is one of my favorite artists, his art in my opinion is amazing and very detailed and he was inspired to draw by French artist Moebius as can be seen in most of his works.
This books cover art was nicely drawn by Terada, and is a part of a bigger picture that can be completely seen on a small fold out poster inside the book itself.
   
This book is divided by 5 parts:

The first part begins with some color artwork of Blood by Katsuya Terada.
This part is very small and lives you wanting for more even with Teradas beautiful art.
   
   
   
The second part of the book collects selected scenes from the movie.
   
The third part of the book begins with Teradas great character base design and visual settings and is followed with some gust color illustrations by: Keita Amamiya, koji Morimoto, Tatsuya Egawa, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and Nobuteru Yuuki.
   
   
   
   

   
   
The forth part of the book contains some info on the digital animation of the movie in Japanese text.

The fifth and last part of the book is about the creator's views and comments mainly by Katsuya Terada(character designer), Hiroyuki Kitakubo(Director) and is accompanied by a bit of Teradas sketch art for the movie. This part of the book is again written in Japanese text.
   

This book is very small(96 pages), and like the movie itself will live you waiting for more that will probably never come but it's also a must have for any Terada or Blood fans and therefore will be hard to get for its normal fitting price.
In the end, this book is a welcomed part to my collection.

Hi orentt. Looks like a really nice companion book to the 2000 anime. What did you think of the 2009 live-action movie?

Hi, fleggett. I love the anime movie, Blood+ series was nice, I don't know what to think of the Blood-C series yet but as for the 2009 live-action movie...I am just happy for the accomplishment of watching the entire movie without poking my eyes out

That's just my opinion but I don't believe in making a live-action movie for Blood will ever work without more background to the anime movie(and that will probably never happen).

I didn't know Nobuteru Yuuki took part in drawing the art for the series. I still associate him with his Escaflowne days. And Chrono Cross. I think of Van when I see Serge, haha.
