Book Review: Claire Wendling - Desk
Wendling is a very influential comic artist from France. This book was originally published in France in 1999 and Stuart Ng Books decided to import it to the US. THANK YOU! This is a collection of Wendling's pencil sketches. There's absolutely no text aside from the introduction and the inner and outer back cover which is a description about the artist. It's a very thin book too, which is kind of unfortunate. Only 64pp, but her drawings make up for that. She captures motion very well, particularly her animal drawings. And she seems to know her anatomy of people and animals inside and out. Some of her work reminds me of Frazetta while others have a Disney aesthetic to them. I just adore her work.
