Book Review: Groundwork of Evangelion: 1.0
Groundwork of Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone commences with about 15 pages of coloured illustrations and their line-art (name of illustrators are in the corner), then it’s straight into the key animation. All the scenes are presented in chronological order they occur in the movie, frames are in order, so you shouldn’t find yourself lost then looking one. From what I can tell, it’s all cleaned up animation, majority of the sheets are thumbnail size, but it’s all black & white clear despite size, and there are also sheets and layouts that take up half the page.

There’s character animation in there (most of it, being certain significant moments), but I find a lot of it is actually explosions, eva-mecha, and landscape animation (so sometimes it's just animation of water splashing or rocks flying). This book is for hardcore fans or animation nuts (particularly those interested in mecha, landscape, effects or animation of ‘stuff’ that isn’t the actual character cast).Contact Me

Dust Jacket (the actual cover it just the title)
