Book Review: Banksy - Wall and Piece
If you're looking to find out who Banksy is, you won't find it in this book. What "Wall and Piece" does tell you is what he does. The book is compiled with works by the graffiti artist. The book is packed with photos and illustrations. There isn't a lot of text but when there is they compliment the photos nicely. The contents is categorized under six groups: monkeys, cops, rats, cows, art, and street furniture. Through these categories Banksy satirizes state authority, capitalism, consumerism, and so on.

My favourite section in the book would have to be the art museum exhibit where Banksy pins his altered version over the original painting. It's hilarious to see them go unnoticed for days. And that is what I find remarkable about Banksy is that he keeps track of how long his work stays up for. It's an example of his dedication to graffiti as an art.

If you would like to see more of Banksy he has a website or watch his Oscar-nominated documentary, "Exit Through The Gift Shop".

Amazon lists this book having 192 pages when it actually has 240 pages.

The quote on the back cover is hilarious.

His works are pretty ingenious. I've also watched his documentary.

Thanks for reviewing the book.
