Book Review: The Art of Guild Wars 2
The book is 128 pages jam packed with art work credited to 25 different amazing artists for ArenaNet. This book is not just filled with a bunch of concept art that you will see directly duplicated in the game but rather the imagination of many many talented artists poured out to inspire even greater creativity. In fact even in the “Foreword” at the beginning of the book it states “ We don’t regard concept art as blueprints to be slavishly reproduced, but rather as an inspirational starting point for our amazingly creative production artists.”
The pictures are big and in some cases take up more than 1 full page. The richness of colors used by the artist are like Viagra for the imagination of anyone flipping through this book. The high quality paper used really makes the images pop off the page. But, the imagination of all of these award winning artists is what really sells this book. Please note: If you are looking for interviews and commentary on the making of Guild Wars 2 than this is the wrong book for you. This book is one thing and one thing only a big beautiful picture book celebrating creativity.
If you are a fan of Guild Wars, Dungeons and Dragons, or Lord of the Rings type of character and genre than buying this book will be a purchase you will most surely want to make.

This is very cool. Exactly what fantasy art should be.
