Book review: Brilliant Color: Painting Vibrant Outdoor Scenes / Julie Gilbert Pollard - agnes - 15-12-2011 02:42 AM [attachment=836]The paintings are marvelous and the stages are well illustrated. Unfortunately the author uses an extended palette: 13 acrylic and 33 oil colors (expensive ones) From all these colours she prepares mixes: about 20 for each lessons (each mix contains 3-4 "basic" colours - some of them as she explains are no more produced, so she recommends another mixes), that she applies in about 20 steps/lesson. If you don't have these colours you're lost I gave up following her mixing after some lessons and tried to match colours to the sample spots very frustrating experience |
