This is the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall. I managed to draw this after a media event by the National Heritage Board. This beautiful villa was built in 1880 and was renovated last year. It's now a museum commemorating Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of the Republic of China.
I was told by the security guy that there were other sketchers sketching here months before me. She even show me photos that she took of those sketches. Unfortunately, I couldn't recognise any signatures. She also took a photo of my sketch. My name is written clearly so if you are to meet the lady guard again, you can ask to see the photos she has collected.
This is Balestier Road, named after Joseph Balestier, the then colony's first American consul from 1837 to 1852. While shophouses are still around the main road, areas behind are mostly taken up by private high-rise housing. It's quite a juxtaposition.
These two sketches were drawn on the Hand-book.
