Here's a fairly entertaining manga I borrowed from the library.

Oshinbo is a series of gourmet manga. There are several volumes and this volume 4 is on fish, sushi and sashimi. The story is about how an aloof journalist Shiro Yamaoka and Yuko Kurita who are put together to come up with the "ultimate menu". Their nemesis is Shiro Yamaoka's father. There's lots of interesting details on the types of fish and ways to cook them.

It's a good read even for me who knows absolutely nothing about sashimi and sushi. I will have to find the other volumes now.
