The new book will be featuring Katong.
Today's sketchwalk was, technically speaking, at Joo Chiat. The Katong area is further back. It's interesting to note that those tall buildings in the distant were building on reclaimed land. That place was a beach front many years ago.
Special thanks to Tony Tan from Betel Box backpackers' hostel for hosting us in the morning. He's extremely knowledgeable about the area, down to the details. It's quite rare to find people who are so interested into heritage and culture. He was giving us so many suggestions on places where we could draw. The aerial view idea was from him.
Even for an ad hoc sketchwalk, the group size is quite big.
