This is my first time down at Goodman Arts Centre. The National Arts Council of Singapore has located their headquarters over there as well. It's the place they are promoting as the 'Meeting Place for the Arts'. Apparently, they are giving very attractive subsidies for rentals there.
So I was there to check out the Comics Xchange event. It's a mini bazaar in conjunction with the 24 Hour Comics Day.

The size of the crowd wasn't very encouraging. Maybe it was due to the lack of mainstream media marketing. I only heard about the event through word of mouth on Facebook.
My colleague Rocketraygun had a booth there and said there were more people yesterday, a Saturday. I don't know how the seminar fared.
Well, at least getting a booth is cheap. $40 only! Oh, and the place is carpeted — nice.

Jonathan T. Racimo aka Ray Racho

Billy & Saltie: Cool Croc. This probably isn't the best way to present a book at any booth.

Some local works. There's Singapore's Greatest Comics which isn't very good.

This booth is pretty cool. Selling keychains made of dot-matrix characters.

Check out the big bag of Copic markers. isxelle on deviantart.

Jove Pater Media is looking for artists to draw for their comics.
I don't know if this event can be considered a success but it certainly can be improved.

Hi Parka,
thanks for coming down to the event. We know there is a lot to be improved upon for our event but we hope you enjoyed yourself nonetheless. =D
On a side note, we also had the seminar & workshop (in Blk B, which is admittedly a distance away from the bazaar) where the participants were generally warm & had fun so all in all, it created an all round social vibe that looks to encourage more interaction among the local artists. =)
Cheers~!
arrrgghhh, missed this :(
