Book Review: This is Gaudi

This is Gaudi - 01

It's always a pleasure to go through the This Is artist series books published by Laurence King Publishing. So far I've featured Frank Lloyd Wright, Bacon, Matisse, Pollock, Leonardo Da Vinci and Dali.

This time, the star is Antoni Gaudi. This book looks at the life and career of this well known architect from Reus, Catalonia, Spain. The text, just like the other books in the series, is written in an accessible and breezy manner. It's meant to introduce Gaudi to more people so the text isn't too technical, which is great, and this is also what makes this a wonderful series. The book has only 80 pages so it's really quick read.

Pictures included are a mixture of beautiful illustration by Christina Christoforou and photos of Gaudi's famous creations.

This is yet another wonderful addition to the artist series of books by Laurence King Publishing. I hope they continue to put out more of such books, and maybe even feature modern contemporary artists.
