This is Boat Quay along Singapore River where fishermen and traders used to have their small boats anchored.

See the bridge at the bottom of this postcard from 1930s? We were drawing at the area on the right side. A big raintrees remain to provide shade.

I was drawing in front of the bridge.

These shophouses are mainly restaurants selling seafood. They are beside the tall office buildings in the business district of Raffles Place.
