Book Review: The Paleozoic concertina picture book by Estrella Vega

Many weeks ago, an artist Estrella Vega contacted me regarding this book that he/she's publishing. It's actually a series of books called The Paleozoic, that's a period from 541 to 252.17 million years ago.

There are five books in this series, each talking about a specific period within the Paleozoic.

Here are the five titles:

The highlight of this series is the presentation. The content is presented in a concertina book that unfolds into a 2.7m long illustration. That's longer than my arm span. Since there are five books, there are five such long illustrations. And the cool thing is you can actually join all the five illustrations together to form an extra long artwork.

When Estrella Vega contacted me, I only wanted to post a blurb on my blog. After thinking more about it, I thought the presentation was really cool and asked for review copies so that I can feature them properly.

On one side of the paper is the illustration, and the on the other side's the information talking about the period, the life and what happened during that time. That's the time before dinosaurs roam the Earth.

The artworks are very beautiful. They are drawn in comic style with black outlines and filled colours. I really enjoyed looking at the art and also learning about all the creatures that lived during that time.

The books are currently only sold on Amazon USA. If you want to get a copy, just check out the links above.
